Safety-toe boots, high-visibility clothing, flame-resistant garments and durable work clothes. Use these questions when you call or email, and put the same questions to each provider so the answers can be compared.
Questions to Ask
- Does this boot carry an ASTM F2413 label, and which ratings does it have?
- Do you fit boots in store and measure both feet?
- Do you accept employer vouchers or company accounts?
- Is this high-visibility garment ANSI/ISEA 107 Class 2 or 3?
- Is this garment flame-resistant, and to which standard?
- Do you resole or repair boots?
Practical Tips
- Read the tag inside the boot: it lists the ASTM standard and ratings such as impact, compression and electrical hazard.
- Try boots on late in the day, wearing your work socks.
- Non-specialty safety-toe boots may be paid for by the worker under OSHA rules, so check your company policy.
Timing and Cost
Typical timing is same day in store; a few weeks for bulk or embroidered orders. On cost, expect a per-pair or per-garment price, often with employer voucher programs available. These are our planning notes rather than survey figures, so rely on the written quote you receive. You can line up the answers in the quote comparison tool and find local options on the Work Boots & Workwear page.
